Listening: Early Tuesday mornings means time in front of the TV with my favorite special victims detectives. I could watch the same episode over and over again. I don’t know what it is but this show gets my attention every time.
Loving: I was a caffeineaholic! For the last two months I have been trying desperately to cut my caffeine intake down from 3 gasp 4 cups a day to a measly one! I’ve been trying to trick myself into thinking I’m drink two, by having a cup of half caff in the morning and another in the afternoon. It’s only one day’s worth of caffeine but my tastebuds don’t seem to realize that! I hope it stays that way!
Thinking: Ohhhh math centers how you seem to be evading me this year! I have tried THREE different structures so far this year and nothing seems to fit the bill with my schedule or kiddos. Make way for B.U.I.L.D. and Kickin’ It In Kindergarten’s fantastic math centers. The structure of B.U.I.L.D. and the free choice that it’s allowing my students (much like Daily 5) seems to be really working for us! I admire every teacher who is able to successfully do a guided math approach. However, with my time constraints as an inclusion teacher and our curriculum (enVisisions I’m looking at you!) it just hasn’t been possible. I can’t wait to continue with B.U.I.L.D. and hope to have a blog post coming up soon about how it’s working in our classroom!
Wanting: I love to cook. But, my Pinterest file of dinner recipes has been used and abused. I need new ideas! I don’t eat red meat (much to my husband’s disappointment) and I think I’m in a dinner rut. I’d love to hear some new ideas in the comments!
Needing: I need more time in the day. Exercise, Blog, Clean, TpT, Cook, Teach (oh you make sure to do that!), and spend time with family and friends. Oy with the poodles already! (Gilmore Girls fans anyone?!) I just haven’t been able to get it together yet. I’m hoping to find some balance soon. Anyone have the magic trick or is this just the constant balancing act of adulthood?!
Swooning: Last week and this weekend, I had my third cold of the year. Yes, third! I thought after 5 years of teaching that my immune system would rally behind me but it seems to have lost some soldiers this year. I am welcoming this warmer weather with open arms in hopes that it helps soothe some stuffy noses and coughs that has circulated throughout my classroom for far too long.
Well, that’s about it for me! Thank you so much as always for stopping by! Make sure to link back to Farley’s blog to read about what more teachers are currently up to!

I Keep thinking exactly the same thing about the immune system! I feel I must've gone through all the viruses by now.. then suddenly have another new cold! lol
On a totally different note.. I love your blog colors!
I still love SVU too!! I think I've seen every episode! I'll always miss Stabler tho! LOL I have to try my coffee your way sounds delish!! And here's to hoping your feeling better soon! The Winter is the worst huh? Have a great day!!
Hi Jayme!
I used to LOVE SVU… then my husband couldn't stand it. He's in law enforcement. I get it. So I had to move on… *sigh* Sorry to hear you are battling cold after cold. Tried a probiotic daily and then emergenC when it first hits? Two of my regulars that seem to help immensely. As for dinner routines I feel ya! I was feeling the same way. I grabbed The Pioneer Woman's cookbook from Costco to remedy the dinner situation. Look her up online. Some of her recipes are a bit labor intensive but now she has 16 minute dinners. I can handle 16 minutes. 🙂 Hope you feel better soon friend!
Joya 🙂
Ugh! Planning meals is the bane of my existence most weeks! I stumbled onto eMeals, which is a meal planning app. You sign up and choose a meal plan. Then every week you get an updated meal list with recipes and a shopping list. It has eliminated the age old question of what to cook for dinner! I hope you feel better soon!
