Tell All Tuesday: Two Truths and a Lie!

June 9, 2015 41 Comments

Hi friends!  I am so excited!  The first Tell All Tuesday link-up day has finally arrived!  I’m thrilled to be starting this weekly summer tradition with my sweet blogging friend Diana from My Day in K! Diana and I started blogging around the same time this year and have quickly become friends and supporters of each other’s TpT and blogging journeys!  I feel so lucky to have made the connections I have with other bloggers and teachers in these few short months.  Diana and I want to continue meeting and collaborating with more of you! That’s how the idea for Tell all Tuesday came to be!

With summer approaching, now is a perfect time to get to know each other!  There are so many new bloggers on the scene and we want a way to get to know each other.  Why not put a little spin on it?!  Let’s get to know each other by playing “Two Truths and a Lie!” We hope you will all join in on the fun!  In your blog post tell us three “facts” about yourself.  Make two of them true and one a lie.  In the comment section your readers will guess which ones are true and which ones are not.  After three days, come back and tell us which one was the lie!  We can’t wait to play along with you and learn something new about our readers and fellow bloggers!

Each week we’ll have a new theme to get you blogging over the summer and give everyone a chance to get to know a little something new about each other!  Let’s get the {linky} party started!  Here are my three “facts!”

Can you guess which are true and which one’s the sneaky little fib?!  I can’t wait to hear from you in the comments!

I am a HUGE Disney fan and have always wanted to work at Walt Disney World.  My family shares my obsession and we used to travel to Disney World quite often growing up.  It was so bad that for almost every Halloween I dressed up as a Disney princess until about the fifth grade.

I found out that they offered an incredible internship program for college students so while I was a junior I applied to work there, hoping for a princess job.  Unfortunately, I was informed that you had to be AT LEAST 5 feet 4 inches to qualify to work as a Disney princess. I was told I fell short at 5 feet 2 inches.  My magical dreams were dashed and I had to “settle” for another internship opportunity closer to home.

Before becoming a teacher, I originally majored in journalism and had dreams of working for a magazine or public relations firm.  I graduated with a journalism degree and immediately started working for a PR firm in New York City.  I QUICKLY realized I was not meant for that world and would hide in the kitchen and cry during my lunch break.  I ended up quitting three months after starting by telling HR that I would rather work with 6 years olds than adults who chose to act like them.

The next week I started working as an instructional aide in an elementary school in my hometown and applying to graduate programs to get my teaching degree.  I haven’t looked back since.  Teaching has always been what I was meant to do!

I am a terrible patient.  I have never liked needles and just sitting in a waiting room of a doctor’s office gives me anxiety.  Growing up, I had terrible allergies and was prone to silly accidents all the time.  I was way too imaginative for my own good!
Once when I was at the doctors for a routine check-up the nurse was tasked with giving me a dreaded shot.  I WENT CRAZY!  My mother and two nurses had to hold me still and try and keep me calm.  I took all the force that a five year old could muster and KICKED the nurse hard in the gut.  She went flying across the room and had to have more reinforcements come in to help!  The only way I calmed down was the promise of McDonald’s after it was all said and done!

Well, that was fun!  Now, it’s all up to you!  Which of these “facts” are true and which one is a silly little lie?!  I can’t wait to read your thoughts in the comments below.  Don’t forget to linkup with us and play along as well!  I can’t wait to meet and learn more about you all.

Make sure to follow my blog and check back in three days when I reveal which one is really the lie. There might be a surprise for someone who guesses correctly!

Happy guessing!

I am going to guess that number 1 is your fib because I am thinking you are taller than 5'2". If number 3 is a truth, I am with you! I hate needles! Thanks for hosting this wonderful link up!

I am going to guess number 2!!! But if its true, you and I both had to try something out before we found teaching!!! Love this linky!!!!

I'm going to guess #1 as well. I believe I've heard the height limit before for Disney, but I think you're taller than 5'2". Thanks for letting me link up!

I hope #3 is true because when I was a kid getting allergy shots, I hated them as well. It usually took a few nurses to get the job done. One time, I kicked a nurse so hard that her glasses fell off and broke! Oops!

I'm going to go with #2.

We are also guessing number three. If it is true, that is too funny that you kicked a nurse!

  • MyDayinK June 9, 2015 at 5:22 pm

I am thinking #3. I am hoping #2 is true because that just solidifies why we have connected through blogging. I also went to school as a journalism major and wanted to work for a newspaper or magazine. I quickly learned that this was not the career choice for me and switched to teaching. 🙂

  • It's Kinder Time June 9, 2015 at 5:26 pm

I think number 2 is your big fib! But I could be wrong so many great teachers started with a different plan in mind before falling in love with teaching!
    I hope I'm right!

Wow! You provided such detail with all three that is is hard to tell. I think they are all believable, but I am going to go with #2. I think you probably majored in education. But, we shall see! Fun linky! Thanks 🙂

  • Megan Baker June 10, 2015 at 4:46 am

This is so fun, Jayme! I am guessing that you are NOT scared of needles, so #3!! Woo hoo!

  • Unknown June 10, 2015 at 12:57 pm

I'm going to guess #3 is your lie- but if it is true that is exactly how I act about needles too!! I wanted to be Belle at Disney so bad my whole life, so I'm totally with you on that one if it's true!

  • Mrs. Barnett June 10, 2015 at 7:33 pm

Wow! You made this tricky with all of your details!! I am going to go with #1?? Can't wait to hear!

  • Teachie-Peachie June 11, 2015 at 1:23 am

Awesome! I think it is #2:)

  • Owl Things First June 11, 2015 at 3:11 am

You are a great story teller! They all sound so believable. I've been with my son through allergy testing, so I know three is true! I'll go with number 1 cause I think Disney can't discriminate against short people!!
    Jenny

  • Krisanna June 11, 2015 at 3:11 am

I think it's number 2, but I've definitely said that I would rather work with immature teenagers who don't know better than immature adults that do. 🙂

  • Unknown June 11, 2015 at 5:25 am

I think #1 is a lie, 5'4'' is still pretty short (I'm 5'3''). That would just be crazy if that really were the limit and if there were a limit in the first place!

  • Breanna June 11, 2015 at 1:34 pm

I love all of your details 🙂 Smart girl! You've made it hard it guess…BUT, I'm going with number 3 as your lie although I am secretly hoping it's true, what a great story!! Can't wait to find out. I love this linky and learning so many new things about these cool bloggers!

  • Court's Creations June 12, 2015 at 3:16 am

Gosh, this was tough…. I think I am going to go with #2!
