Happy 2016 my sweet friends! I hope your new year is off to a great start. Well, I successfully made it to midnight last night and was able to ring in the new year with my sweet husband and some great friends. My husband made fun of me for drinking a few cups of coffee before we were heading out to make sure that I could stay awake to see the ball drop #teachersonwinterbreakproblems. It was a great low-key night with friends and good food and I am so excited for a new year full of possibilities!
It wouldn’t be the beginning of a new month though without Farley from Oh’ Boy 4th Grade‘s Currently linky party! I hope everyone is enjoying their winter break and taking advantage of all day Netflix binges, yoga pants, endless bathroom breaks, and multiple cups of coffee. Here’s what I’m currently up to!

Listening
The Office on Netflix. I have always loved this show and Jim and Pam hold a very special place in my heart. Whenever I need a good vegging session on the couch, this show is always a go-to favorite of mine!
Loving
Not having to set an alarm for the next day may be the key to happiness. I have always been a sleeper like teenage Jayme needing to be pulled out of bed at noon kind of sleeper. But, over the last few years I have tried to train myself to get up earlier and become a “morning person.” Despite my best efforts, there’s nothing better than sleeping in and not having to set the alarm for work or other responsibilities.
Thinking
This year I only need two observations because I’m tenured staff. But, my first one has yet to happen. I’m thinking it will most likely be within the first week that we return, but I wish I had a better idea. I should be lesson planning for it and making sure I have a few lessons in my back pocket that I would be confident to use. I’m hoping to get that started tomorrow.
Wanting
You know the expression, “If you build it, they will come?” Well, I’m hoping by buying new workout gear, will get me to the gym. If I buy something cute and funky, maybe I will be more motivated to remain consistent at the gym. Plus, Kate Hudson’s commercials for her new athletic line may or may not have sucked me in.
Needing
I haven’t created a new product for my TpT store in too long. I need to get my creative juices flowing and start creating some things for my classroom and for others. I got a TpT gift card from my mother-in-law for Christmas and it is burning a hole in my pocket! New clip art is calling my name.
One Little Word
DETERMINATION
I have chosen determination for my one little word of 2016. There are so many goals and dreams that I would like to achieve this year and I am determined to see them through. I sometimes let my lack of self confidence get in the way of going after what I want or the idea that maybe it’s not meant for me. This year I am determined to not give up. I am determined to accomplish my goals and be the best version of myself that I can be.
I would love to hear from you about some of your resolutions for the new year. Don’t forget to stop by Farley’s blog and check out what other teacher bloggers’ are currently up to!
As always, thanks so much for stopping by! Happy and Healthy New Year to everyone!

Oooooh, love your word! Determination is a great one for the start of a new year. I can't wait to see what you create next for TpT! I'm sure you'll rock your observation no matter when it happens. Happy New Year, friend!

Determination is the PERFECT one little word … especially after the holidays! I would much rather stay up all night and sleep in then have to worry about getting up early so I'm right there with you! Too bad they don't have elementary night school š Hope your year is off to a good start!
