I’m so excited to be linking up with two absolute fabulous bloggers, teachers, and TpT authors for this month’s #2GETHERWEAREBETTER Linky Party! Ashley Schroeder of Schroeder Shenanigans in 2nd and Angie Olson of Lucky Little Learners are two bloggers with some of the most innovative ideas out there and I’m so excited to link up with them to share a little bit about myself! Make sure to link back to their blogs and check out some of the other fabulous bloggers participating this month!

When Ashley announced that this month’s theme would be all about our home office space, I was a little nervous! Living in a city in a small apartment doesn’t actually lend itself to a huge amount of personal workspace BUT it does motivate me to get creative! So, in the spirit of laying it all out there for my readers, I will show you the not so large but happy place that gets me feeling inspired and motivated; my kitchen island!

My whole apartment is basically furnished by Home Goods and Target and I run on coffee (multiple cups a day!) so it is no surprise that those two things are featured in these pictures! My kitchen island is the perfect spot for me to blog, create for TpT, and lesson plan. It’s right next to my Keurig coffee maker aka my life line and in front of the TV and refrigerator.

On the weekends, I am happiest to be perched at my island with an almond milk latte from my favorite neighborhood coffee shop and laptop. A lot of times my little pup Roger joins me! He can be found sitting on the chair in front of the island or right beside me which is evident from the picture below! My dream is to write a children’s book about his crazy antics. One of these days maybe it will happen!

As I work lately, I am not far from Ashley’s fantastic Blo(r)ganized binder that keeps me accountable for giveaways, linky parties, and upcoming product ideas that I want to be working on. It’s a great way to keep me organized and have all of my materials in one place. If you’re interested in checking it out make sure to visit her store here! I’m also getting ready to participate in The Primary Gal’s summer book study for Learn Like A Pirate! I can’t wait to read about everyone’s opinions with this awesome book. It will definitely be shaping my teaching for next year!

Since I don’t have much space to keep materials out in the open in my “office” considering it’s also where we eat and socialize, I needed a place to store all of my materials. But, it couldn’t just be any old place, I had to have a cute wicker bin from Target to match my kitchen chairs! In my bin I store my binder, current reading materials, computer accessories, lesson planning materials, etc. The only thing not shown is my personal laminator that’s hidden in my (messy, ssshhh) closet and my printer that sits on the floor in our TV room!

The last piece to my home office puzzle is this sweet notebook that I bought from Michael’s a few months ago when I first began my blogging/TpT journey. I loved the message on the cover and it has quickly become my other right hand. I carry it with me in my bag from home to school and to all errands in between. Anytime I have a product idea, an idea for a blog post, or need to jot down a quick note, this quickly has become my own personal assistant. I don’t have many home office necessities but this little notebook is definitely one of them!
What kind of Pinterest lover would I be if I didn’t have my home office inspiration? One day when the hubby and I decide to leave our little city I would love to have a home office like one of my favorite lifestyle bloggers, Jen Ramos of Made By Girl! Her home office is inspirational, beautiful, and so organized.

I love the bright natural light, the decorative white shelves, and the beautiful art on the wall. A girl can dream, can’t she?!
I hope that this post shows other budding TpT authors/bloggers that you don’t need much to get yourselves started. All it takes is a computer, some comfortable chairs, and some exciting ideas to get the creative juices flowing! One day, I will have a “big girl,” office and a “big girl,” house but until then I like my little island of happiness!
Make sure to link back and read all of the other blogger’s amazing ideas for inspiration!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hey Jayme. I loved reading this post. You are adorable and your vision of a "big girl office" is to die for! I love all the white and natural lighting. In the meantime, it definitely looks like you have a great system down! I, too, am a HUGE fan of Ashley's blorganized binder. I keep having to update the size of this binder as it just seems to keep growing and growing! Thanks for linking up with us!!!
Yay for city living! We are city dwellers, too, and I love it…except for the parking and (lack of) closets! We have a 2nd bedroom to use as my office, but it also has random furniture that we didn't have room for anywhere else. I would love to find a better solution! I also need to check out the blorganized binder – thanks for the suggestion! Jen
Hi Jayme, thanks for sharing your office space with us. I loved it, and it is super cozy, the perfect place to be productive. Plus, your dΓ©cor is my personal taste as well, Target and Homegoods. π I will have to add that book to my book list this summer. It looks like a great read! Thanks for sharing!

I'm pretty sure your kitchen is gorgeous! Who wouldn't want to work there! I've definitely had my share of make shift offices throughout the years, so I hear ya! I feel so lucky to finally have a room of my own. Hopefully you can make that dream office reality some day! π
